i agree with the fact that main reason behind our laking in field hockey is the change in style we are doing as it is said in Urdu proverb where one make ones face red by slapping...
i think the real legends should come forward and teach the real Pakistani hockey style to the current team so that the real glory of Pakistan can come out again. i have an emotional bond with hockey and that is why its harsh to see them loosing whats what i said in one of my blog post :http://mylandpakistan.blogspot.com/2010/03/my-love-with-hockey-is-emotional.html

Forgive me if my comment is off-topic but I think in a way it is related. Talking about Steve Jobs, who has again risen from scratch to tycoon through his new revolutionary product Apple Tablet iPad. This 0.5 Inches thick and weighing only 1.5 pounds is not only a complete replacement of desktop or laptop but has many other facilities like iPod and iTune. The battery when charged will keep this slate activated up to 6 hours, so you can travel with it and yet get connected with internet. Internet connectivity is same like mobile phones. This small wonder is still in the registering process with Federal Communication and after that it would be marketed.

If Bill Gates is giant in software business of Microsoft and operating systems, Steve Jobs has also become a giant in hardware business.

My eyes were thirsty to read at least one article in Pakistani media world that does not smell odour of biased opnion - my dreams came true after reading this piece of description. The author has tried to remain unbiased as much as he could. Not that easy a job in view of the events that are happening in this region! Kudos to the author.

I do agree media persons are human beings and as such media can not remain without passions and can not dissociate from raising the feelings of common man (and so has the author penned down in this article). But period but, there is a thin line between describing the news and "painting" the news. Unfortunately, Pakistani media has a wrong conception that they are king makers and they can oust any settled govrnment by hook and crook. When I watched one hour talk show program (Capital Talks) on Geo TV, in which selected media men and politicians discussed and predicted pack up of present democratic system and take over by Military I was shocked. I was more shocked when I saw them quite happy and relaxed as if this was their efforts. I was most shocked when nobody talked about resistance and mass movement if such grave thing happened.

Coming back to the topic, the author has narrated the meeting quite beautifully. The dialogue and discussions do not change the scenario, I admit. But that does not mean we should do away with dialogues. It is like crimes are increasing every passing day but that does not mean we should eliminate the Police force from our society. I hope in this Avary Tower meeting nobody said "I hate America". This sentence has forcefully been uttered by Ansar Abbasi before an American Delegate. Why should we hate Americans? We hate American governments deeds that have caused a horrible situation in this part of the world, but certainly we do not hate American people.

The author has given a shallow analysis of catastrophic climate change. In the last three words, “catastrophic” is the invention of some politicians headed by Al Gore and some IPCC scientists. Two reports of IPCC conferences have been organized by none other than United Nations, each having more than 700 pages. It is surprising to note that the concluding part (summary) has been written down by non-scientists of the panel and many scientists of the panel disowned the summary on the reason that it was not in conformity with their works, research, peer review and data. Manhattan Declaration (with another body of eminent scientists) has totally rejected IPCC report. They say “climate has changed, is changing and shall continue to change independent of human activities”. NASA GISS: Temperature Release 2000-2009 index shows there has been an increase in Earth temperature by 0.2 degree centigrade, meaning thereby in 100 years or so, the Earth temperature might rise to 2 degree centigrade. By any stretch of imagination we are NOT heading towards “catastrophic” climate change. The whole game is with malafide intention of politicians. Every government wants to broaden her tax base. However, there is a lot of hue and cry in assemblies if new tax is proposed. Taxes on Global Warming were passed in Congress (Carbon Credit, Carbon tax etc.) smoothly because before that the whole world was informed that we are heading towards “Catastrophic” Global Warming. The emission of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by industry and vehicles does make an impact on global warming but that impact is very nominal. Climate as a whole is controlled by mother nature and not by humans. However, period however, we should keep our house Earth clean from pollution as much as we can.

Regarding Hydrogen being considered as an alternative to fossil oil, this great idea is already in active research by scientists. On a small scale they have succeeded but it is a long way to prepare and market. Huge plants (numerous) are required that break up the sea water into Oxygen and Hydrogen and thereafter, mass storage of Hydrogen as fuel. Wind energy depends on wind (unpredictable) and solar energy is still on its baby stage. Thus, Hydrogen is the obvious choice, I do agree.
